There were smiles all round this week, as the reception staff at the Ramada Plaza Wrexham have become the first team to all become Wrexham Tourism Ambassadors!
Staff have been encouraged to complete the free modules, in order to gain a greater understanding of Wrexham County, and assist them in advising visitors to the area and giving an even better welcome!
The team are at varying levels on the course, ranging from bronze to gold, but all intend on completing the 9 modules required to claim the title of Gold Ambassador.
Head of Sales at the Ramada, Lisa Kendrick has really championed the course to staff and added; “Providing a first class customer service to our visitors is something we’re really passionate about here at the hotel and allowing our staff to do this simple, online training has been really beneficial. Whilst we work in Wrexham on a daily basis, the team have learnt more about the local area and more importantly, improved their knowledge which they can share with our guests to help them stay in Wrexham longer and have a better experience.”
The scheme, which launched earlier this year, has been really well received, by the tourism sector, and the general public alike, with almost 200 people now claiming the title of Wrexham Tourism Ambassadors.
It’s free to join, with each module taking no more than 30 minutes to complete. You can dip in and out as you please, and you’re certain to learn something you didn’t already know about Wrexham.
The team behind the Wrexham Ambassador Scheme are hopeful that other hospitality businesses will follow suite, and view the modules as a great staff additional front-of-house training tool. It can only benefit the already great welcome visitors receive across the county.
