Thanks to funding from a National Lottery grant we have re-opened  Minera Lead Mines near Wrexham as an exciting visitor attraction and outdoor events space. An exciting programme of activities for all ages and abilities will be run during school holidays.

The lead mines offer a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of the beautiful Clywedog Valley and visitors can explore the country park seeing remains of the lead processing areas from the 18th and 19th centuries, the restored beam engine house, winding engine and boiler houses. There is also a visitor centre that tells the story of the site plus a country park covering 53 acres of grassland, wooded areas and archaeological sites.

The visitor centre and toilet facilities are now open  daily  ( 10 am - 4 pm) for the  School Holidays  2019 and at Weekends only at other times ( 10 am -4 pm ). See our Facebook page and for news.
