    National Trust Cymru lights up Erddig and Chirk Castle to support Wrexham’s UK City of Culture 2025

    Earlier this month saw National Trust Cymru team up with Wrexham County Borough Council to light up two significant landmarks in Wrexham. Chirk Castle and Erddig were lit up to show their support for Wrexham’s UK City of Culture 2025 bid. Wrexham is the only region in Wales through to the longlist of areas competing for UK City of Culture 2025 title, with the next stage in February when the finalists will be reduced from eight to three before the winner is announced in May 20

    On Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th January two Wrexham City of Culture buses will be touring the county in order to raise awareness and support for the #Wrecsam2025 bid. The buses will have on board performers and artists who will be hopping off at different locations for a short performance, before jumping back on board and heading to the next location.     The Wrexham 2025 bid team have announced funding of up to £1,000 for community groups or individuals to put on an event showcasing Wrexham’s communities and culture as part of #Wrecsam2025 (our bid to become City of Culture in 2025). We don’t want to over prescribe what the event can be – we’ll leave the creativity up to you.
