The Magic Dragon Brewery Tap on Charles Street, Wrexham has been featured in the 50th edition of CAMRA’s prestigious Good Beer Guide 2023, considered the definitive beer drinker’s guide to the very best pubs in the country.
Just 4,500 out of the nation’s 50,000 pubs are listed in the Guide, all of which undergo a rigorous selection process by local CAMRA volunteers to seek out and promote the finest outlets for real ale across the UK.
The tap open in December 2019 and serves ale and craft beer from their Brewery, Magic Dragon Brewing. They also sell Welsh spirits and lager and have live music on at the weekends.
Manager, Dave Salisbury says "we're really pleased to be featured in the Good Beer Guide for the second year in a row and it builds on our success of getting top marks in the recent Cask Marque award assessment. We really are proving to be one of the best bars for cask ale in Wrexham"
Nik Antona, CAMRA National Chairman adds: “This continues to be an incredibly difficult time for the pubs industry, as a cost of goods and living crisis follows hot on the heels of a two-year pandemic. Huge congratulations are in order for all the pubs listed in the Guide, which exemplify the very highest standards across the UK.
He adds: “Our volunteer base has worked for half a century to produce the Good Beer Guide as a beacon of support for the industry. We hope people will use the Guide to not only applaud the ‘cream of the crop’ featured, but also to visit pubs during a time when they need it most.”
The Good Beer Guide 2023 is now available from the CAMRA shop at https://shop.camra.org.uk/product/the-good-beer-guide-2023/ and there is an updated app version available for download on both iOS and Android device.
