Wrexham Listed as One of UK's Best Places to Visit in 2024!

After a buoyant renaissance as a tourism destination, Time Out have just released their definitive 'top 15' places to visit in the UK and Wrexham features on the list!

It's no secret that we are welcoming more international tourism to the area - thanks largely to the popularity and success of the Welcome to Wrexham docu-series - but the positive press and acknowledgement in articles such as this shows that our wider area and local community are also stars in their own right.

Wrexham is listed as one of the UK's hottest tourism destinations in recent years and as well as the football story, visitors are encouraged to check out some of our other incredible attractions such as the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal World Heritage Site, Chirk Castle, Erddig and the forthcoming National Football Museum for Wales which is scheduled to open in late 2025.

The new Time Out accolade will surely further enhance Wrexham's appeal to visitors in 2024/25 and our team are working hard with Visit Wales and Wrexham County Borough Council to support our local hospitality businesses and event hosts to maximise their stay in the area.

Website traffic to our site has quadrupled in recent months and in 2023, we have welcomed group visitors from all over the world, many of whom have arrived having watched 'Welcome to Wrexham' and are keen to explore the wider area including places such as the Ceiriog Valley, our two National Trust properties, St Giles Parish Church with it's many international connections or to just sample the incredible hospitality at places such as the Turf, the Lemon Tree, the Fat Boar, Lot 11 or further afield at venues such as Rossett Hall Hotel, The Hand at Llanarmon, the Plassey or the West Arms.

We could list so many existing hospitality businesses who have invested in their offer over recent months, and on the ground, there's as much reason to be positive about the future for the vitality of Wrexham if we continue to keep pulling together and harnessing these incredible opportunities that are coming our way.

We'll highlight more of these stories on a local level over the coming months and keep aiming to showcase the many, many reasons to visit this great County next year!
