Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse Marks 40 Years of Live Aid with Unmissable Summer Music Meet Featuring Go Span Duran

Music and racing fans are in for a treat as Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse celebrates the 40th anniversary of Live Aid with a spectacular day of racing action and live music.

On Friday 6 June, the racecourse will welcome racegoers to the Summer Meet to enjoy an exhilarating afternoon of jump racing, followed by an electrifying live performance from top 80s tribute band Go Span Duran.

Following the success of last year’s Glast-on-Dee – the racecourse’s debut live music fixture – this event will once again combine an exciting afternoon of racing with a post-racing concert, creating an all-encompassing day of entertainment.

This year, the Summer Music Meet promises to deliver an even bigger atmosphere as Bangor-on-Dee turns into a vibrant festival ground in tribute to one of the most iconic music events in history - Live Aid.

Racegoers can expect a full-throttle trip back to the 1980s as Go Span Duran take to the stage after racing. The band will perform chart-topping hits from three iconic acts – Go West, Spandau Ballet, and Duran Duran – along with even more era-defining anthems.

Live music is scheduled to begin at approximately 5pm, shortly after the final race, and will last for around one hour. With the racecourse’s unique setting nestled in the North Wales countryside, the event promises to deliver a summer evening to remember.

A full card of competitive jump racing will kick off earlier in the afternoon, offering all the traditional excitement Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is known for. As the final horse crosses the finish line, the energy will shift from the track to the stage, as Go Span Duran take centre stage to close the day in style.
